Paul T.C. Fung (馮德聰) is the C.E.O. of Photon Link Limitd, a commercial datacenter service provider, and also the Director of Datayard Systems Limited, an open source platform developer, supporting web portals and secured office firewall gateway servers, and it’s related web application developments. Both companies had supported, and are servicing the running of many high-volume Internet web systems, including some world class web sites. Working in the ICT industry for over 20 years, with the blessing on this depth and board experience and knowledge, Paul setup his own research and development on open source platforms, and start Datayard in 2001 as part of his IT and business consultant business. Its product “Datayard C.M.S.” had won the Linux Pilot Magazine’s “Best Content Management & Video Conferencing System” in 2005, and its “Datayard SME Linux Gateway Server” was selected as the Best “SME server” subsequently in 2006 to 2010 for its powerful all-in-one support to the SME market, in 2016, they had released their full responsive finger friendly CMS, and are wildly accepted by the market. In 2011, he starts his data center operation Photon Link, partnering with some network experts, providing professional datacenter services with network security and many advance options that secured cloud servers on Internet. Since 2014, Paul starts his work as one of the guest anchors on a TV program《潮玩科 技》on NowTV / ViuTV. Since that, he is now introducing new technology innovations to the public, helping them to be informed by all the latest technology changes in the world. In 2012-14, Paul was appointed as the member of the “Working Group on Cloud Security and Privacy” under the “Expert Group on Cloud Computing Services and Standards”, which is chaired by the government’s GCIO. (Government Chief Information Officer) This 2 years appointment is giving a very good chance to him to contribute his professional knowledge and experience to the papers that was issued on the according topics by the government, keeping the voices of the industry to be heard. In 2015, HK Independent Non-Executive Director Association (HKINEDA) invited Paul to join them as Honorary IT Consultant, and he was appointed as the council member later in 2017. Same year March, he was appointed as the Independent Non-Executive Director of ECI Technology Holdings Limited (HKEX stock code :8013), serving as the I.T. market expert in the board of directors, representing the benefits of the stock holders in the HK stock market. In 2017, He joined the HK BlockChain Society as Vice President to further his interest on FinTech developments. And in Oct, he was apointed as a member of Academic Advisory Board in HK Shue Yan University, Department of Economics and Finance, contributing his knowledge on FinTech helping to university to setup related courses. Paul is also having an active participation in the community work, he is the founder and founding president of The International Federation of Creativity and Technology (IFOCAT), who is aiming at building a platform to bridge different groups of creative elite to make changes happen, and are now serving as the Honorable President, to keep pushing the work of IFOCAT. He is also the member of the government’s Public Affairs Forum, the Vice President of iProA, The Vice Chairman of the FinTech Committee in the Smart City Consortium (SCC), founding member of the HK Creative Industries Association (HKCIA), the Executive Committee of HK Linux Industry Association, Council Members of TechMatrix Research Centre, and the founding member of the Hong Kong Innovative Technologies Preferred (HKITP.org). He is also the voluntary I.T. consultant of HK Aged Concern, HK Shue Yan University Alumni Association, and some other non-profit organizations. In his leisure, he spend most of his time studying open source technology and its related copyright issues; and from time to time, he writes comments on the forum of news papers, expressing his care on economic and technology affairs, in order to alert the public on things that the society should notice.
