Iain Lockyer, Cloud Calling, APJC Iain is a 25-year veteran of the telecommunications industry, having worked in both the operator and vendor sectors in leading areas of technology. He started his career in the early 90’s as the first technical employee for Camtech, an ISP spun out from the University of Adelaide, focusing on Internet security, dialup access and Unix systems administration. Following this, he worked at EDS as a Network Architect and led IP design for the NineMSN data centre in Australia. Iain previously worked at Cisco Systems as a Consulting Systems Engineer in ANZ in access, core and IP security across the Carrier and ISP industry, prior to joining Broadsoft in 2006 where he then worked as a Consulting Sales Engineer, SE Director for APAC, and Associate VP for Strategy in Asia Pacific. During this time Iain has worked on more than 70 successful communications projects that have delivered innovative services with carriers in the region, including Telstra, Spark, Vodafone NZ, Vocus, TPG, SingTel, Korea Telecom, SoftBank, SK Telink, Samsung SDS, HKT, HKBN, Maxis, Dialog and AIS. Since Cisco’s acquisition of BroadSoft in 2018, Iain has worked as the Sales Engineering lead for Cloud Calling and Care in APJC Iain's skills span across broadband access technologies, security, WLAN, through to Contact Centres, Unified Communications, Mobile technology and applications. He has strong commercial skills in helping build the outbound marketing value proposition for communications technology to end-users. Iain is passionate about the application of advanced technology to increase people’s productivity, workflow and the utilisation of technology to create a work/life balance in an increasingly information-chaotic world. Iain holds a B.SC (Maths and Comp Sci) from the University of Adelaide, held CCIE certification and is an inventor of a patent related to Ethernet access technology.
