Ernest Lee is the Head of Cloud and Cognitive Software, IBM China/Hong Kong, responsible for public/private cloud, big data, analytics and AI solutions. Prior to this role Ernest was responsible for the Cognitive solution channels sales and ecosystem development in China, Taiwan and Hong Kong. He is responsible to build up the platform for the Business Partner to maximise the value through collaborating with each others. From 2011 to 2015, Ernest was the director of Industry Solution and Smarter Planet product line in IBM, covering Smarter Commerce, Smarter City and Enterprise Content Management. This included all related marketing, channels, technical, and business operations. From 2007 to 2010, Ernest was executive, BPIE, GCG, IBM China, to develop and serve IBM strategic and local partners to build up the IBM/partner ecosystem to serve the customers in GCG. From 2004 to 2006, Ernest was Websphere Brand Executive, GCG, IBM Software Group. His responsibilities included WebSphere, Business Integration and SOA (Services Oriented Architecture). Mr. Lee joined IBM in 1987 as Systems Engineer, supporting mainframe customers in Hong Kong and Macau. He joined IBM Software Group in 1993 as Product Manager on IBM Application Development Tools. Mr. Lee was promoted to Manager of Software Business, leading Software business in Hong Kong, then as Asia Pacific sales executive on Pervasive Computing covering GCG, ASEAN, ANZ and Korea. Mr. Lee started his career as Programmer at Texwood Limited, working on Accounting and Sales Processing Systems. He then joined International Bank of Asia as an Analyst/Programmer, responsible for the Mortgage and Stock Settlement systems, using IBM mainframe. He obtained a B.S. in Computer Science from The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1984 and an MBA from the same University in 1992.
