Alex Hung, MH
Alex Hung is CEO of Crossover International (software development and ICT consulting) and chief technology officer for Luxsens. He worked for HSBC Asset management, UBS Private bank HK Police Force and ADP as developer and business analyst since 1994. As CEO of Crossover International, Alex helped build Crossover’s technology and technology team and led it 16 years of rapid growth. He excels in area of Artificial intelligence , mobile apps and Fintech.
Alex’s 24-year career in technology spans both academia and industry as researcher, engineer and leader. Prior to building Crossover, he involved in data warehouse projects in global UBS and HK Police Force. He is the recipient of Medal of Honour from HK Govt in 2016 for his contribution in helping the promotion of ICT in HK for youths in HK. Alex wrote few ICT books and wrote more than 120 articles in major newspapers in HK and made a 13-episode programmes in RTHK radio to talk about emerging technology for public. He has been interviewed by major media in HK for more than 100 times in the last 10 years about ICT Policy and emerging technology. In the last 15 years, he gave technology talks in conferences in 16 provinces in China and 13 countries. He has been the President of HKUST MBA alumni association to engage alumni after study and President of Rotary club of Peninsula Sunrise to have betterment of society.
He is an adviser to several HK startups, an active angel investor, the founder of the non-profit organization HKNETEA to organise tech awards and international exchange for youths in HK, EU, UN and China.
Alex holds an MBA and an MSc (Information systems management) from HKUST, a B.Sc. in computer science from HKU, and have been appointed as Honorary Lecturer in HKU (2002-2005) and teach Neural network, Databases, Information System’s, Artificial intelligence, System engineering, big data and Fintech in HKU, University of London, Baptist University, Middlesex University in HK , Shanghai, Yunnan since 1999.
