Hong Kong has established itself as a regional leader when it comes to cloud computing, according to Asia Cloud Computing Association’s Cloud Readiness Index (CRI) 2016. The study shows Hong Kong has significant performances on international connectivity, data privacy and data centre risk management with dedicated focus on developing both hard and soft infrastructure for cloud and technology use.
Asian organisations are rushing to the cloud - according to Frost and Sullivan research:
- 91% of organisations in the region are already deploying cloud or planning to do so
- 59% see cloud as their number 1 priority this year
- An industry is forming to serve them. IDC predicts the cloud ecosystem will grow at a CAGR of 67.9% in the APAC region up to 2018
We are already seeing the results of this in Singapore where the sister event Cloud Expo Asia, targeting the South East Asian market, has mushroomed in its first four editions - with attendance now at almost 13,000+ and the show having more than doubled in size, and set to be significantly bigger again next time.
